if i could use one word to describe today, it would be : rain.
it started off small. we had visited one of the 13 ming tombs, Ding (4) Ling (2). it was an underground palace and quite cooling at that. we got there at 8 as well, having set off at 7 once more. since the place only opened at 8,we pretty much got the place to ourselves, as there weren't that many tour groups around. once got through the whole thing, we came outside to a slight drizzle and MANY MANY tour groups.
by the time we hit the 2nd of the 13 tombs, Chang (2) Ling (2), the rain had stopped, but soon started up again. it was pouring by the time we got into one of the big halls. thank goodness tracy and I had brought one umbrella each! the rain just got heavier and heavier as we went through the exhibits. once it showed a slight sign of letting up, we were eager to get on with the touring. it sure beat standing around in the big hall. the umbrellas and us then headed round the tomb and then back to the van. by that time the rain had more or less stopped.
after that, despite it only being 1030, we headed off to the olympics area to get some lunch at "boys and girls", once again recommended by my uncle. by the time we got to the restaurant it was 12, and i was starving!
we ordered their famous fish head, and they gave us some prata like thing to accompany it. we had ma po tofu, chinese white cabbage, tau you bak-like meat with bamboo, winter melon soup, yang zhou fried rice.
we planned to either head to the mao's thingy, or the Lamasery this afternoon. but the rain just got heavier and heavier and we had to head back to the hotel, which leaves me in front of the laptop blogging, after watching boston legal. a good dramedy, which i don't mind watching again.
amyway, mum is bugging me to get off the computer.
take care and God bless everyone! wil bring you updates on dinner later on!
