after about 24 hours worth of travelling, i have made it back to sg!

it had rained earlier in the day when i landed, so the heat wasn't as jarring as it usually was. and of course, being in richmond had aclimatised me. :)

my 1st day back was spent unpacking, with Crystal Jade La Mien Xiao Long Bao for lunch, an then it was off to visit popo and kong kong (grandparents on mum's side). i brought some photos that nancy had taken of us in our white coats, and the photos we took at Busch Gardens. and that's when they got their 1st look at Aaron.

the thing is, i never actually told them i had a boyfriend, and i dont' know if mum did. but you can't hide the facts i guess, and when they enquired about the only chinese boy in the picture, i had to say, "that's aaron, my boyfriend". hope it didn't come as a shock to them, i felt a bit awkward, but we breezed through that pretty quickly and moved on to other things.

spent some time in raffles city after that, looking for a watch with 12 numbers and a second hand (good for taking pulses), for black shoes (the ones i wore in the UK was ripping at the back and the front), and for a cardigan for my mum (she needs one for the plane trip to and from beijing): all 3 to no avail.

i was so tired that i slept for about 2 hours before dinner. mum made my favourite soup for my return and it was great to have it even though i didn't eat much else before i went to bed again.

yesterday koo bought some chicken rice (yay!)for lunch and then i followed her down to bugis (she works near by).

then i ventured to Raffles Hospital, to catch up with old chums i used to work with. the pple i know have either moved up or moved out it turns out. most have moved out, resigning left, right and centre. when i got to the 2nd floor, where the eye, ent and children's centres are, there was practically nobody at the counters that i knew. except june, the really really really nice, motherly cashier that worked there, and a nurse that i had met briefly the last time that i visited. they told me tina (the paeds nurse) had been promoted to clinic coordinator and that she now had her own office! had a good long chat with tina, when peggy came in to join us. twas good catching up with both of them. i learnt that aisyah, soo li and mahya had all left the company, and lee boon had been moved to the women's centre with her promotion to assistant manager.

it was nice catching up with them all, and it helped to pass some time while mr aaron goh was eventually nearly 2 hours late for our appointed 3pm meeting. to his vredit he mentioned that he would be meeting his mum at 3 instead, and that he'd be there around 4. but oh well, at least i had a good chat with friends.

we shopped around at bugis for a while, and realised i can't afford the clothes that i want :(

then we parted ways, so i could meet mum for dinner and more cardigan shopping at centrepoint. we went into G2000 and found one that she liked enough, then headed to fish and co for dinner. had the usual fish and chips (it's better than the UK one that's for sure). then spent tues night doing what we always do in this house, watch CSI!:)

today i had the esteemed pleasure of meeting up with nev nah. he hasn't changed one bit (i gathered) and realised that i missed speaking to him, even if it is at thai express and throughout our (more like my) shopping expedition in paragon, heeren and far east. and nev, you'll always be my friend, no matter what situations you throw at me (in response to your earlier question. unless of course you betray my trust, in which case, fire and brimstone! just kidding!)

tmr is junior meeting day, with book buying and maybe dinner.
