got to see "bread and butter" stuff. breast augmentation (implants basically) and liposuction. was supposed to see the removal of a basal cell carcinoma, but the patient was an elderly woman living in a home. that would be ok, except the home was in lock down as there was some respiratory thing going round.
no matter, breast implants and lipo were interesting enough. i'd never seen either before so i was good experience.
you'd think surgery is a fine art, but really it's a lot of yanking and pulling.
for breast implants you have to make sure there's a pocket for the implant. you make an incision around the nipple, stick your finger in, and basically push your finger around feeling for the pocket. you PUSH the implant in then pump it up with saline, and voila! instant cleavage, or in some cases, extra cleavage. haha.
lipo is basically a small metal tube being shoved in and out of your trouble spots to suck the fat out haha.
really simple procedures, each augment +lipo took about 1.5-2 hours, and it doesn't really cost THAT much (thousands of dollars, but it COULD cost more). no wonder so many pple are jumping on the bandwagon!
the doctor usually asks the patient what size they want, to bring a bra they want to fill, and a picture of what they want to look like (usually from victoria secrets). sometimes all 3 could mean different size implants, so you have to get a rough sizing, and adjust accordingly during surgery.
