had dinner with GUSS.. something which i didn't want to go to in the 1st place... cos i was ill... and well... was out buying food for the steamboat... AND i still had (and have) PBL and LCP to do!
but hey... good thing i did... very lucky table tonight!
1st of all, we won the quiz that was put forth to us at the start of the dinner... ok i was by one point. but a point is still a point. a win is still a win. haha. got us a packet of malteasers!
then came the lucky draw... when alfred read of the numbers for 2nd and 3rd prize and they were from the other 2 tables... we thought, hey maybe we'll have a chance!:)
then alfred went... the 1st number is a one.... the second number is ALSO A ONE! i nearly lept out of my chair (only managed a slight lift-off in the end!) and raised my hand! haha... can't believe i won 1st prize! It was ONE KILO OF BAK KUA!!!
WAH LAU... Mei Zhen Xiang Bak Kua! haha... mum and dad... this is probably the one and only time i have such good luck haha. for those of you who know me... i have incredibly bad luck haha...
oh well, even though things seem quite dismal at the moment, i still feel quite blessed, even if it's just with creature comforts like CNY food (pineapple tarts, kueh bangkit, love letters from home and my new bak kua!) and of course, friends all round that make festive seasons away from home so much more bearable. :)
miss all of you back home! Here's wishing, and hoping, and praying... that this CNY will bring great blessings and joy from the Lord, and that he'll bring you a very prosperous Year of the Dog!:)
