started with IMH aka Woodbridge in the morning. a very pleasant environment i must say. the A class rooms really make you feel like you are in a resort! they had dark wood and balinese/thai silk like bedspeards and matching sheets and pillowcases as well. WOW. amazing man. the CEO of the hospital was a really enthusiastic, chirpy, upbeat man (engineer by training!) and seemed very proud of his hospital. well he should be. it's looks amazing. a good place for patients to recover and rehabilitate before and if they get reintegrated to society. and erm for those who are curious, i'm really not sure if there's a ward set aside for teachers... but they have 1500 long stay patients... some have been there since the 1940s! and the oldest is 104! they eat very healthy food apparantly!:) the staff there were so accomodating. hats off to them. they have a really tough job. and they seem to do it well.
TTSH was BIG man. but i liked it. the talk was short and simple. and i think the tour spoke wonders about the hospital. the people there seemed friendly with each other. they were cheery and gave us a lovely tour of the various areas in the hospital. TTSH has the busiest A&E dept, followed by CGH then SGH. might consider working here when i get back!
to be fair, i haven't yet seen SGH and CGH. so only time will tell i guess!
had dinner with Koo, Tania (who came down from M'sia) and Tricia tonight. Koo let we drive everyone ard! was v pleased with that. the only down side was:
1. i was supposed to meet Nev tonight :( 2. i realised that i really cannot park straight. but i least i get into the lots ok haha....
had a great time just eating local food (yum!) and catching up with each others lives. i think we wished we could spend more time together, but well.. it IS a thurs night and trish has to work tmr... so we all left with fond hugs and promises to meet again!
more and more, i feel connected to my family.
PS. Kong kong was so sweet he actually called me to ask me abt my student visa today. had a nice chat with him before boarding the bus to IMH :)
