watched downfall today... abt hitler's last hours.. left quite a deep impression on me...
they're all insane... in a sad... mad kinda way... when a mother kills her children... and officers left right and centre are commiting suicide as they do not want to betray their leader.. it's heartbreakingly sad....
it's a german film... with english subs lah... if you haven't seen it.. please do... they all seemed so human.. the nazis that it... they REALLY believed that what they were doing was right.... but in the end... the fact that hitler didn't really care abt the citizens disturbed them... heck he murdered 6 million jews.. and then declared that the citizens who would be killed were born to die?!
yes the movie may come across as humanising hitler... but honestly... instead of feeling compassion for him.. i pitied him more than anything... a man who thought he could rule the world... reduced to suicide with instructions to his aide to burn the bodies of him and his wife so he would not be paraded ard by the russians....
it's just sad.. to have your dreams disappear before you.. just when you thought it was within your grasp...
he was so cruel.. so cold... so inhuman... still makes me shiver thinking of all the things he has done...
sigh.. i have this to sleep on.. sweet dreams you all!
