Back from amsterdam! had a grand wild time.. and now it's time to knuckle down to work right? WRONG... was running a damn fever.. tis a very annoying thing that i SO do not enjoy... and since i haven't blogged for so long decided to break my trip up into sections.....

so what is amsterdam famous for? sex and drugs would be your immediate answers... prostitution is legalised there and they get health benefits and all that... soft drugs are allowed in coffeeshops.. but not in cafes.. THAT'S how you differentiate where you're allowed to smoke and where you aren't... in fact my nose is rather sensitive to the smell now.. so if any of you are doing drugs... pls... DON'T.. plus i'll find you out.. and you'll have to talk to ah ma here ok... haha... and in case you were wondering.. no i didn't try either sex or drugs.. btw the prostitutes were quite fat and ugly actually haha...

ok anyhow.. touched down in amsterdam in the afternoon.. and realised... DAMN... forgot to print the directions to the hostel and to the diamond factory we were going to see that day... DAMN.... anyhow.. asked ard and eventually got to the hostel.... very happy to say that we got the 8 person room... 4 sets of bunkbeds... yay.. that's the smallest room available you see.e. the rest of the rooms you share with either 12/16/20 pple.. and your lockers are outside the room... damn marfan to get stuff... although it would be more considerate to your neighbours should you need to get stuff out at night since opening the locker would make lotsa noise..

Since we arrived at the hostel quite early.. we decided to walk ard our area before we head to the diamond factory... and there we found.. A MARKET... haha yeah like bugis that kind of market lah... sells clothes and other barang barang... wandered ard for a bit.. had some ice cream and then some soup and bread since we hadn't had lunch... then onward to the daimond factory! very interesting i must say.. they explained how diamonds are cut and polished.. though in a rather disinterested way... cos i gather he knew that we weren't going to buy anything haha... hey man we're poor students.. how to afford diamonds.. like that i don't have to become a dr lah.. just live in a lap of luxury...

after that we wandered ard.. found our way to town and back.. cos we managed to pick up a map from one of the shops.. all the maps we printed out didn't have ALL the road names.. so it was a little difficult when you only have the main roads marked out on the map... in fact we got the map from one of the hash shops haha.. they even had a display on how to grow it.. they sold the seeds and all that.. with instructions as to how to grow hash and what the different types of hash tasted like etc etc... haha very interesting.. and along the way we purposely stepped into one of the coffeeshops to get a whiff of hash.. haha... yeah.. even took a pic of the shop it was called... Free Adam.. *d'oh* haha... wandered ard somemore to find out what's the what in amsterdam.. then nightfall came.. naturally... we went to the red light district straight away haha.. the youth hostel was parallel to the red light district anyway... so it was kinda on our way home.. so there... another eye opener.. you see all these windows we curtains... and red lights illuminating them... inside you'd see scantily clad.. somewhat ugly and fat girls parading ard.. not that i have anything against fat pple.. but hey they don't say the clothes maketh the man for no reason... just saying that they could have dressed better to look more attractive? but hey.. the whole point is to sell flesh.. so i guess the more you reveal the better? haha ok lah....

FWAH.. all that walking for the whole day.. legs were dead tired, feet were in pain by the time we made our way home haha...

Woke up late the next morning and missed breakfast... damn.. so we happily wandered out of the hostel.. figuring we probably could find some food along the way to the Van Gogh Museum... you heard me right peeps.. Van Gogh.. it was the BEST museum of all the ones we saw in amsterdam.. yes even more interesting than the hash museum... skipped breakfast in the end since we were aiming to go for 3 museums that day.. a word to the wise... DON'T EVER TRY THAT.. museums are meant to be savoured.. you'll end up spending 3-4 hours at each before you'll be satisfied that you've seen and appreciated everything.... so yes.. van gogh was beautiful... the art was excellent and they even had paintings there of those who inspired van gogh and those who were inspired by him.. so you can see the influences of one painting on another... gorgeous!

ok that's round one... look forward to more yeah?

At present day... am quite pissed of with parents again... what's new? why? they have trust issues... what's new?

School's started! Am frantically revision like siao... good? i hope so... countdown to june 8 peeps... no fun.. no shit....

lab was totally boring yesterday... mentally drained i tell you... to make things worse the guy spent half an hour trying to tell us how to USE a microscope.. and the microscopes... were from the STONE AGE... ahh... brillant... bored-out-of-my-freaking-mind kinda brillant...

then we had to use a computer programme in the med sch library.. the *ahem* study landscape.. *cough cough* well the point was that spending 3 hours in front of a computer is not my idea of fun..... NO SIREE.. and this was AFTER the dead boring lab... yesterday... BAD DAY haha...

Today wasn't too bad though... learnt how to do chest examinations... and when i told my guy friends that (those in singapore and not in med sch) they were like... CHEST examinations... so only for girls ah... pls... men and women BOTH have chests... girls just happen to have a more... prominent chest you filthy minded idiots haha.....

ok lah... that's me for now.... tune in next time for tales from amsterdam!:)
