OHhhh crap... actually blogged yesterday but i apparantly it didn't get posted... so round 2 then....

CNY away from home... my very 1st.. rather memorable i must say...

CNY day itself... i woke up and called all my relatives and friends back home... if you're reading this and you didn't get a call from me... well i tried... but i couldn't get through to some of you!:( OH well.... in case you didn't get a call... GONG XI FA CAI once more!:) Sorry if i interrupted something when i called... esp to pple like nev and jono.... oh well.... chat with you guys more online then? haha....

At night we had Cell grp dinner... WOW.. had it at Khammy's place... one of the CG members... he whipped up homemade spring rolls and sushi!:) there was also chicken and clams as well! and his younger bro made us smoothies as well! Mel provided sweet and sour chicken... chris provided dessert (the non-giggly mouse haha... it was erm quite frozen lah....) and drinks (IRN BRU.... pronouced Iron Brew... the national drink of scotland haha it's non-alcoholic lah you pple)... i contributed CNY cookies which amazingly were a real big hit... in fact i never ate them before this day.. and when i did.. WOW... to DIE FOR.. haha... in the spirit of CNY and all that... kudos to my mum's friend who made them!:) we watched and laughed at ER... some show on Gay babies... and had a good chat abt Singaporean food (someone gave khammy a book from cold storage haha... some food heritage thing lah haha).. and life in general... twas' great.. khammy and brothers were so accomodating and really nice! aww... i think i love my cell grp!:) interesting fact to note... the three of us who went to khammy's place (me, mel and chris) all have the same birthday! mega party when that special day comes round!:)

On the 2nd day of CNY... had GUSS dinner... the food was ok i guess.. but i guess nothing beats home cooked food... esp since i know my folks have a CNY party at home every year... and yeah all the good food pops out there man...:) hope you enjoyed it all Marc... did you eat more for me? no? well you should have! haha....

Amidst the CNY festive potlucks and dinners... i think i felt really quite settled back in Glasgow... that i've sort of reconciled my Singapore self and my Glasgow self... used to think i was living two lives in two different countries... going home confused me a little... not knowing who i was or where i stood on certain issues... i felt like i was drifting not really belonging in Singapore cos i knew i'd be leaving so soon... not really belonging in Glasgow.. cos well it's not home... hmmm... oh well... now i think i've sorted it all out... sometimes one has to be independent of surroundings... and hmm maybe sometimes it ISN'T hypocritical to be so different at different places, amongst different pple... to quote jov.. they're seen me at different parts of my life.. at different stages of my growth as a person... they know me at different levels i guess... and that's alright... cos they are all precious pple to me.. no matter which stage they've seen me at... or how we've grown together....

I'm getting better at being myself i hope.. well at least i'm trying very hard... well still have to iron out a few things.. to find myself i guess? haha i sound so.. pensive... a change from being caustic i suppose... well i guess CNY is a festival for family reunions... and well i think i've reunited with my family here in Glasgow... and perhaps found some sort of peace in me...
