oh man!

Haven't updated in ages eh.... and to think a while ago i'd define ages as a few months... look at me now... sadly addicted to blogging...

Just read many of my friend's blogs... and suddenly miss them... i'm not the type who sits in a corner and cries her bloody guts out just cos sad, pathetic me is here in glasgow and all wonderful, hallowed friends are in S'pore... but hey.. i still miss them...

in fact jsut yesterday carol asked me.... has life in glasgow turned out better or worse than you expected? and i replied... definitely much better... it has...

Had lots of bad reviews of studying overseas at first... what with the horror stories of being cold. alone. isolated. but hey.. i'm actually glad that i've found good friends here in glasgow... we support each other.. and it really makes my day to see them and have a wee chat with them....

Had thanksgiving dinner last thursday... i know you guys must be thinking... thanksgiving is an american holiday is it not? well it IS... but kenneth apparantly celebrates thanksgiving with his family in singapore as well...

What an adventure it was just PREPARING the thanksgiving dinner! after class we dashed off to get food..... headed home to drop the food then headed into town to catch LOVE ACTUALLY... it's an AB FAB show pple... you MUST MUST MUST MUST MUST go watch it!:P haha it's really sweet though i think some part of the story would be SERIOUSLY censored in Singapore haha... well if you want to know which part i think is censored... erm email me or ask me when i GET HOME IN TWO WEEKS!:P

Anyhow.. the 4 of us (me, carol, kenneth, aaron) got home from the movie and proceeded to make the turkey... ARGH... we got home at 7+... prepared the turkey and proceeded to wait for the turkey to be done... for the uninitiated... it take 3 WHOLE HOURS for a turkey to bake haha... anyway we anticipated the wait... and the dinner at 2330... so we had the salad first at 8+... at the same time... we were preparing the mashed potatoes.... absolute disaster... the skin went all wrong and got mixed with the potatoes.. haha.. had to fish the skin out of the super boiled potatoes..... most amusing i tell you... and of course a lesson well learnt...

Haha.. anyhow.. after eating it was like 12+ so had to shower and sleep... the guys stayed over this time... haha... vs the other time all 3 of us stayed over at kenneth's place (us 2 girls were proudly able to fit comfortably onto a single bed... and they guys of course... took the floor)... haha... carol was chasing all of us to bed cos she needed her 8-9 hours of beauty sleep... *grin* yes well... hope she can survive her JHO (junioe house officer) years man!

then friday... KO haha.... as it is with all stayovers... the next day is a guaranteed wipe out.... oh well... at least the thanksgiving dinner was worth it... the turkey was SUPERB i tell you... and hey... before we ate the turkey...we went round the table and said what we were thankful for before we ate... said grace.. then ate... it was real interesting how we went round the table... it was in order of how dark our clothes were... not surprisingly.. i was going first... having the darkest clothes (black is the only colour you ever need... though i have been wearing more colours here...).. then aaron (who was wearing all black too... but alas... his black shirt was faded so i had to go first :( haha) then kenneth... blue top! and of course.. our darling carol who was wearing WHITE.... which might explain why she wanted to go by colour in the 1st place.. haha...

Oh well... sat was a bad day for me.... cos i had to wake up early to do some GUSS stuff (book courts for the weekly games).. ok peeps you have been forwarned... DO NOT WAKE ME UP EARLY ON A SAT MORNING.. my whole day will be out of whack cos it's the only day i get to sleep in and i need my rest!:P so i was rather cranky and out of it for the rest of the day...

Good thing that happened on sat though... was that my grandfather rang me up! YAY!!!:P got to talk to him and made sure he was feeling alright....

Then had to go for cell group leaders meeting.... frankly.. i'm not really confident abt being a cell grp leader....
A. I have never even BEEN in a cell group...
B. I dunno if i have time to do this man... work seems to be piling up..

But i really want to contribute to the fellowship... we'll see lah.. this worries me now cos i don't want a rehash of my council days...

Eh it's not the friendships and whatever that i don't want kay... it's the fact that my studies took 2nd place... this is medicine.. no joke man.... i don't want to screw up.. i want to be a good doctor... i just hope that i'll be able to cope... well in all things trust in God i suppose...something i've learnt abt over the weekend..

Trust the Lord your God with all your heart, all your mind and all your strength... for He will nourish you, comfort you and always be there for you no matter what...

My senior said something very true... "i'd rather break my heart than God's"

We may want to do things our way.. and even go against God... but after all He's done for us? How could we?
